Hi, I’m Amanda
and I created Fertility Rising to provide women with the support I wish I’d had pre- and post-pregnancy. But this isn’t how my story began.
After graduating with a First Class with Distinction from the Warwick University, I spent 10 years working in London and internationally as a Strategy and Communications Consultant for the UK Government. And while I enjoyed this work, something was missing.
My terrible experience on the pill led me to delve deeper into the science of the menstrual cycle to find a reliable alternative form of contraception. My dedication to my yoga practice pushed me to combine this with a more embodied path.
And then came 2020. I was pregnant, gave birth and navigated early motherhood during a global pandemic. I experienced first hand the importance of knowledge, support and community during this time and the difference it could make to this journey. It was going through this experience that led me to my purpose.
Deciding to enter motherhood is a huge and exciting decision. But it can also be accompanied by fear of getting things wrong and overwhelm at all the information out there. And without the right guidance and support, it can be a painfully lonely experience too.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Through my coaching programmes and Womb Yoga classes I provide a space for women to be heard, to be held, to be guided and to find community. I support women in coming home to themselves, their bodies and their intuition as they journey into motherhood. I’m by their side, every step of the way.
Here’s what I believe
That women’s bodies are amazing and powerful but we have been conditioned to fear the place we call home
That all women have the right to understand how their body and their fertility works
That hustle culture has done a great disservice to women and their wellbeing. Rest is necessary. Rest is healing. Rest is radical
That pregnancy, birth and motherhood are huge rites of passage that require support, connection and community
That being a mum is the most important job in the world and our society doesn’t value it so that mothers can thrive rather than just survive
